3 Ways to Keep your Goals Front of Mind in 2022
Have you ever made a vision board using magazines and posters? Do you know where it is now? If you didn’t hang it up, chances are it’s in the back of your closet. We’ve got some ideas that can help you keep your goals at the forefront of your mind! Use these tips and tricks to stay accountable and increase your chances of success.
1. Create a digital vision board.
One way to save paper while keeping your vision board somewhere it can actually help you is to make a virtual vision board. Use Google Slides, Canva, or PowerPoint to make a digital collage of photos from the internet that reflect your vision, goals, and intentions. Then save it as your background or screensaver on your phone or computer. That way, it’s always on a device you’re likely to look at every day allowing you to stay motivated and better track your progress.
2. Make an intention/affirmation jar.
Ìpàdé community member Shani Syphrett-Haynes - Founder and CEO of Jamila Studio - led an intention-setting meetup for women of color in December 2021 where she shared the practice of writing out your goals and intentions as positive, present-tense affirmations. It also helps to add gratitude and feeling to your affirmation.
That means instead of writing out “I will start a business in 2022,” you write your affirmation as “I am grateful to be the proud owner of a thriving business.”
Write these out on notecards or little slips of paper and put them in a jar that you keep close to you. Keeping them on your desk or nightstand means you can easily access them and refer to them when you need inspiration.
3. Use a meditation app for daily affirmations.
A daily practice of affirming your gratitude and greatness goes a long way! In addition to reading the intentions you wrote for yourself, listening or reading affirmations every day can help you keep a positive mindset. Affirmations increase your confidence in your ability to reach your goals and to navigate challenges that life inevitably brings.
